About The Position

Vaxcyte is a clinical-stage vaccine innovation company engineering high-fidelity vaccines to protect humankind from the consequences of bacterial diseases, which have serious and costly health consequences when left unchecked. Vaxcyte’s Summer Internship program offers students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience that complements their college curriculum with relevant hands-on work that can shape their future career pathing and interests. As a Facilities Intern for Vaxcyte, you will work on a project as outlined below: Participation in and documentation of active construction and lab/gas equipment installation projects. Creation or update of asset records within the Facilities Asset Management system. Review and documentation of preventative maintenance schedules and PM completion rates. Accurate entry, tracking, and reporting of work orders in the CMMS. Completion of space planning exercises, including space data updates and utilization analysis using space planning systems. Timely and accurate triage, tracking, and reporting of workplace and security tickets. The Intern will learn and practice: Learn how facilities, lab, and construction projects move from planning through execution and closeout. Hands-on exposure to asset management, preventative maintenance concepts, and how reliability, safety, and compliance are maintained in an operational environment. Build familiarity with tools such as CMMS, space planning systems, and ticketing systems to track work, assets, and space metrics. Gain an understanding of how Facilities partners with vendors, contractors, and other internal teams to deliver projects and day-to-day support. Program Details: The Internship will begin in June and will be around 10 weeks (8 hours per day) in duration at our San Carlos, California location.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (enrolled student with at least 1 year at university completed) with a focus on Construction Management, Facility Management, Business Management, or related major
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and work quality.
  • Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork.
  • Enthusiastic-Shows curiosity and is eager to learn.
