Summer Intern - Costing
About The Position
At Beckman Coulter, an operating company of Danaher, the work focuses on life sciences, diagnostics, and biotechnology, aiming to innovate for tangible impact and transform human health. This is a 10-12 week, full-time summer internship within the Finance and Cost Accounting organization. The intern will support manufacturing costing, analytics, and reporting initiatives. The role involves building and validating Power BI reports, analyzing items and standard costs, and identifying gaps like missing or zero costs across manufacturing organizations. This work helps improve cost accuracy, visibility, and decision-making for manufacturing and finance leaders, while providing the intern with hands-on experience using real financial data and analytics tools used in day-to-day operations.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Completed some course work in accounting to date as part of degree
- Graduating within one year and interest in pursuing a career in accounting or finance within a large multinational corporation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Support Power BI dashboards for costing and pricing
- Identify items with missing or zero costs
- Analyze cost types and transfer prices
- Document costing flow maps
- Compile PO pricing and support standard cost validation
