Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated's ("RGA") legal internship program offers you an immersive paid internship at RGA's global headquarters and within the in-house legal department of a company: Listed in the Fortune 500 with annual revenues exceeding $18.6 billion in 2023. Employing over 60 lawyers and legal professionals around the world specializing in M&A, securities law, corporate governance, data privacy and security, investments, real estate, litigation, insurance transactions, regulatory compliance and commercial contracting. With 26 offices around the world and lawyers based in St. Louis, Cape Town, Cologne, London, Montreal, Toronto, Sydney and Washington, D.C. Over 30 law students have participated in RGA's legal internship program since it began in 2011. Previous interns have gone on to obtain judicial clerkships and work for large law firms, including international firms in New York, Chicago, Palo Alto, Washington, D.C. and St. Louis. What Will You Do: The program offers you the opportunity to gain real-world, hands-on experience directly with experienced lawyers across various legal disciplines. Responsibilities and projects may include research, drafting, analysis and observational opportunities in the following areas: Commercial contracts (i.e. non-disclosure, services, licensing and event agreements). Corporate governance and securities transactions. Insurance regulation and compliance. Real estate transactions. Litigation. Employment. Privacy and data security. International transactions. Public policy. You will receive thoughtful, in-depth training in various practices areas including extensive training on commercial contract review and negotiation, interact directly with in-house attorneys, business partners, outside counsel and clients as appropriate and receive substantive feedback, and career mentorship from practicing attorneys. Interns will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule that will include at least three days in-office at RGA headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri with the option to work two days remotely and must be available full-time during the summer (40 hours) with possible part-time (5-15 hours per week remote or in office) flexible work available during the following school year.
