About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Intern will work with PPS, Safety & Health, Human Resources and other groups around the factory. Functions will include continuous improvement, kaizen events, time studies, and Safety & Health projects.

Requirements

  • We are looking for students currently enrolled in a degree program for Process Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Have experience working with Microsoft Office products and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt in our environment and change priorities quickly if assembly needs dictate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people and function.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be available 12-15 weeks.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Belt experience/certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to successfully apply Six Sigma tools and methodology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with continuous improvement projects, including facilitating workshops and supporting process and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for facilitating continuous improvement and Kaizen events.
  • Conduct time studies to support balancing of production line labor.
  • Provide support in various Safety & Health projects relating to analytics and risk assessments in a manufacturing setting.
  • Assist in the preparation and performance of safety meetings and training programs.
  • Conduct work area safety inspections and audits with special emphasis on hazard recognition, unsafe behaviors and suggested corrections.
