About Our Internship Program Our interns provide valuable support to our teams as we work to expand access to the most diverse antibody repertoires and cutting-edge screening technologies. Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment and impactful work to our interns as well as learning and development opportunities. This is a 10-week program which offers an internship project and a platform for our interns to share their work with the organization. Our interns will be encouraged to drive their projects and network within the organization, but they will also have a dedicated Intern Manager and Intern Advocate to offer guidance and support throughout the program. About This Role We’re seeking a Summer Intern who will support project‑based analytical work for the Business Development team, Finance team, and executive leadership. This role will contribute to generating insights related to technology development, markets, products, competitors, and broader industry trends that help inform strategic decision‑making. This individual will collaborate with Business Development, Executive Leadership, and cross‑functional scientific teams to contribute to targeted analysis and decision‑support models. The ideal candidate has exposure to or a strong interest in business research, market analysis, and exploring how scientific and commercial insights intersect. This role reports to the SVP, People and Talent and will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and VP of Business Development. Please note: Our program will begin mid‑June and end mid‑late August. This is an onsite position based out of our Emeryville headquarters, and we do not offer relocation for this opportunity. This is a full‑time position, and the office hours are within 8am–5pm PT.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a BSc (3rd year+) or a MSc in Business, Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Foundational analytical and research skills, gained through coursework, class projects, internships, or student research.
  • Experience using Excel for data analysis, including formulas and basic data manipulation, and experience building or maintaining simple analytical templates or models through coursework, projects, or internships.
  • Strong interest in market research, competitive intelligence, and industry/technology trends, with the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work with both scientific and business information, interpret data, and develop clear, concise summaries with guidance.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, and enthusiasm for learning new analytical tools and methods.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including managing small projects, organizing tasks, and knowing when to ask questions or seek clarification.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or hands‑on exposure to biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.
  • Familiarity with industry publications, scientific literature searches, or tools such as PubMed, company filings, market research reports, or similar resources.
  • Curiosity about therapeutic areas, biologics, peptides, or emerging technologies in discovery and development.

Responsibilities

  • Help research and compile summaries of industry trends in discovery, clinical development, and emerging technologies.
  • Support the collection and organization of information on marketing and commercial activities, including publicly available spend, positioning, and messaging.
  • Contribute to evaluating enabling technology trends and global therapeutic area developments by helping gather and analyze relevant data.
  • Assist with basic market research on antibody and peptide markets, including major players, product types, and observable trends.
  • Generate digital tracking tools or spreadsheets to monitor industry updates, market signals, and competitive developments.
  • Assist in building or updating analytical models, such as benchmark or consensus-tracking templates for therapeutic programs.
  • Help create clear and concise presentation materials that summarize research findings for internal audiences.
  • Present your work at the annual Internship Showcase.
