About The Position

As the Automotive Communications Intern, you will support global internal communications and public relations for the HARMAN automotive division, gaining practical experience in creating and executing communication strategies and content. The internship provides opportunities to participate in real-world projects where you can enhance writing, communication, and analytical skills through diverse tasks.

Requirements

• Must have taken courses in, or closely related to Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to team and project leads
• Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
• Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
• Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan.
• Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
• Must provide full work availability from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026 and be able to work 40 hours per week

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• A passion for writing
• Video creation/editing experience
• Interest in the automotive industry

Responsibilities

• Lead the ideation and creation of internal content, telling meaningful stories about our people and automotive products.
• Draft newsletters, email announcements, and internal videos, keeping automotive employees engaged and informed.
• Support external communications efforts, including PR events, award submissions, and speaking engagements.
• Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, helping refine messaging and improve engagement.
• Collaborate with global teams across functions, gaining exposure to diverse areas of the business.
