About The Position
Embark on a journey to gain invaluable experience in the dynamic and competitive world of insurance underwriting. WestCongress Insurance Services is seeking a motivated Summer Intern to support our Operations, Underwriting, and Claims departments. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to engage with the backend of the business, work alongside experienced underwriters, and contribute meaningfully to our daily operations. As an intern, you'll dive deep into the intricacies of underwriting, develop essential business skills, and present a leadership-focused project to our executive leadership team. Champlain Insurance Group is a fast-growing, specialty, surplus and excess lines insurance enterprise. Which, through our affiliates, Champlain Specialty Insurance Company, WestCongress Insurance Services LLC, and WestCongress Risk Services LLC, offers primary and excess general liability insurance solutions and claims administration throughout the United States.
Requirements
- Upcoming Junior or Senior (Fall 2026) students
- Majors in Business, Communication, Risk Management, Finance, or related fields
- Strong interest in the insurance industry
Responsibilities
- Work with underwriting, operations, and claims personnel to learn and perform basic support functions.
- Assist in managing day-to-day corporate administrative activities and responsibilities.
- Learn and perform various operational tasks to support business functions.
- Develop and present a leadership-focused project summarizing your experience and insights to the executive leadership team.
