About The Position

Upward Bound serves high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree and/or from families who meet federal income guidelines. The goal of UB is to help students recognize and develop their potential and to encourage them to pursue post-secondary degrees. Our goal of summer programming is to incorporate learning in a fun and creative way. This will be an opportunity to teach on campus at UW-Whitewater in Whitewater, WI in a classroom setting. Two candidates for the following subjects: World Language ASL Curriculum Content and Lesson Preparation (Grades 9-12) World Language German Curriculum Content and Lesson Preparation (Grades 9-12)

Requirements

  • Licensed teacher for 9th – 12th grade in given field and at least 1 year teaching experience preferred.
  • All offers will be contingent on a successful criminal background check.
  • Must live and work in Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a curriculum focusing on key concepts designed around the summer’s theme
  • Develop hands-on activities for workshops
  • Submit a syllabus by May 1, 2026
  • Attend teacher orientation
  • Create pre and post tests
  • Communicate and give feedback to students
  • Submit final grades to UB Advisors by July 13th
  • Be a positive role model for our Upward Bound scholars
