About The Position

MARION CITY SCHOOLS Marion, Ohio March 31, 2026 ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCIES Anticipated Openings for the summer of 2026 Summer Food Service Programs The first day of work will be Monday, June 1st. The program will run through Thursday, August 6th. Tentative work schedule: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am-1:30 pm or 9am-2pm, depending on your job assignments. 5 hours per day Schedule and hours subject to change Please be prepared to provide information on any time off you will need throughout the summer A Mandatory training session will be held on May 6th, Attendance is required. Current cook pay will be based off of your contracted amount through the regular school year all others is as follows: Delivery drivers (no CDL required) $16/Hour Site Workers $13-$16/hour Site Supervisor $16/Hour We will be hiring for the following: 2 to 3 Drivers (no CDL required) 20 to 25 Site Workers 7 to 9 Site Supervisors 3 to 4 Subs for Drivers and Site Workers (If you are applying for a sub position only, please email Donnie Strong and let him know) Actual amount of workers needed will be determined closer to the start of the program You must be able to lift up to 40lbs repeatedly and be able to be on your feet for up to five hours JOB ASSIGNMENTS: They will consist of food preparation, packing, loading, delivery, recording and/or serving meals to children at one or two different sites throughout the school district. Those interested in driving delivery vehicles must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and a good driving record. All positions and times are subject to change based on number of meals served and inclement weather. Everyone operating/working at meal serving sites will be required to have their own transportation to and from those sites. AGE REQUIREMENT: You must be at least 14 years old to apply. If you are under the age of 18, you must provide consent to work from your parent or guardian. This consent should include a verification of your age. A standard form will be available if you are offered a position. This form must be completed and returned along with fingerprints before starting work. College Students and Students that participate in extracurricular activities during the summer should be prepared to provide a schedule at the time of interview to prevent any conflicts.
