The AMD Client Business Unit’s Technical Documentation Department is looking for a Technical Writer intern with the knowledge and ability to write and edit engineering-level documents for x86-based computer hardware and software. In addition, experience with Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Visio, Jira, and Confluence is preferred. Knowledge of DITA XML is a plus.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of x86 processor architecture.
  • Knowledge of motherboards that support x86 processors.
  • You are currently enrolled in a United States based University in a Undergrad program majoring in Technical Writing, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineer
  • Demonstrates ability to work with minimal supervision and to solve problems independently.
  • Ability to maintain consistent organization of multiple documents with multiple drafts and many reviewers across the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Visio, Jira, and Confluence is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DITA XML is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word styles and/or document-level paragraph styles and/or CSS style sheets.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to write about hardware and software as it relates to x86 processors and infrastructure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment following prescribed processes for delivering NDA documentation to engineers.
  • Ability to work on multiple documents concurrently.
