About The Position

This person will assist with all aspects of maintenance throughout the College facilities. Occasional overtime often on short notice may be required. This position works 18-20 hours during the Academic Calendar and can work up to 37.5 hours during the summer only.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid and in State Valid Driver's License.
• Knowledge of chemical reactions from all types of paints, varnishes, and solvents that may be used on various faces.
• Ability to read, write and interpret instructions.
• Must be able to work on assignments with little supervision.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years full-time experience as a painter in industrial, commercial, or residential buildings.
• Extensive experience in industrial and institutional environment.
• Experience in general maintenance duties, such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sand, prime paint, and finish paint on: wood, concrete, plaster, sheetrock, and steel surfaces.
• Mix oil base and latex paints by hand.
• Ability to keep a safe and clean workspace.
• Assist other General Services personnel in completing work related to, but not limited to HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry.
• Perform drywall repairs and finishing.
