SUMMARY The Co-Op/Internship opportunity includes a variety of meaningful assignments that allow students to gain valuable experience in the manufacturing environment. The assignments provide students with opportunities to develop by integrating classroom theory with practical, hands-on work and to demonstrate their skills for future career opportunities at Triangle. Students will observe each stage of the manufacturing process via observation and hands-on training, and assist engineering staff in the development and implementation of the complete part-specific process, adhering to the Quality Management System, all applicable regulations, and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred).
  • Proficient in basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card status.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineer with all aspects of the part-specific process, including resource planning and project timelines, to ensure customer requirements and quoted standards are met.
  • Update and maintain the production job packets, which include item masters, bills of material, and routers, etc.
  • Build process documentation and work instructions utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Students will enhance their professional presentation and communication skills, both oral and written, by providing a formal business presentation on their projects, and by working with all levels of the organization.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Projects and lean manufacturing principles on the production floor.
