Title of Position: Summer EL Teachers (Grades K - 12) Work Year: Summer 2026 Dates of Employment: July 6, 2026 - July 31, 2026 (Monday - Friday all weeks) Location/Time: Goodnow: Gr. K - 5, 8:15am - 1:45pm (these positions will be co-taught and paired with General Education teachers) MHS: Gr. 6 - 12, 7:45am - 1:15pm Application Instructions: Please indicate preference of grade level in your cover letter. Compensation: $5,000 Stipend, includes prep (in-person). Stipend subject to pro-ration for changes to hours and/or dates worked. Organizational Relationships: Reports to the Summer School Building Administrator, EL Summer Coordinator, Director of EL and Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and consistently monitor goals and objectives for students in accordance with the WIDA Standards and the Common Core. K-5 requires co-planning and co-teaching with General Education teachers Assess Students in the summer program. Instructs using SEI strategies Communication with parents. Provide a positive structured environment, addressing grade appropriate EL standards. Provide a positive learning environment for all students in the program. Participate in on-going planning, implementing, and evaluation of summer curriculum. Carry out daily responsibilities of the classroom. Perform other duties as assigned by the Summer Building Administrator or Summer Program Coordinator or Supervisor Qualifications: Certified Teacher in appropriate grade, Licensed by the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education as a Teacher of ESL or EL preferred Bachelor’s or higher earned academic degree Demonstrated ability to work with English language learners Knowledge of second language learning, standards-based curriculum, alternative method of assessment Familiarity with WIDA English Language Development Standards Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus but not required Equal Opportunity Employer It is the policy of the Marlborough Public Schools not to discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, color, homelessness, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or disability in its education programs, services, activities, or employment practices.
