About The Position

The University of Pikeville is seeking applications for the position of Summer Crew Assistant. Summer Crew Assistants support the Division of Student Affairs by assisting with residence hall preparation, facility projects, and operational support during the summer term. This position contributes to a safe, functional, and welcoming campus environment through hands-on work, collaboration, and adherence to university standards.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Must be fully registered for the Fall 2026 semester to be hired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with residence hall preparation, including cleaning, furniture moves, and minor repairs.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks requiring lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 75 pounds.
  • Support planned project work for the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Assist with room setup, breakdown, and operational readiness for summer programs and fall opening.
  • Conduct facility inspections and submit work orders as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including fire evacuation and emergency protocols.
  • Maintain safe work practices while performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with Residence Life, Student Activities, Facilities, IT, and Public Safety.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding assignments and progress.
  • Use University communication tools to stay informed of schedules, expectations, and task updates.
  • Maintain professional behavior, appropriate dress, and consistent attendance.
  • Adhere to University policies and workplace conduct expectations.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions related to operations, safety, and customer service.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by Division leadership or designated supervisors.
