About The Position

The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities. The Management Unit Examines operations and projects at city agencies with the goal of gaining more efficient, cost-effective services and improved outcomes. Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas where efficiency can be improved. Identity bottlenecks, redundancies, inefficiencies and implement changes to streamline operations. This involves reorganizing tasks, simplifying procedures, and automating repetitive or manual processes.

Requirements

• A cover letter is required to be considered for this position. Applications submitted without a cover letter will not be considered.
• Undergraduate interns must be currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited college or university.
• Strong analytical, research and communications skills are required.
• Candidates must have familiarity in MS Word and Excel
• To participate in the OMB Summer Internship Program, undergraduate students must be enrolled or accepted into a college or university.
• As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas where efficiency can be improved.
• Identity bottlenecks, redundancies, inefficiencies and implement changes to streamline operations.
• Reorganizing tasks, simplifying procedures, and automating repetitive or manual processes.
• Project manager, to ensure effective coordination, planning, and execution of research and data analytics projects.
• Manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations, ensuring the team operates efficiently and delivers on project objectives.
