About The Position

ADEC is looking for a Summer Camp Manager to join the smiles at our Elkhart location to supervise a team empowering people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives, understanding the importance of and their right to making choices, developing a positive sense of self, living an interesting life with opportunities to thrive and experience joy, creating relationships within and beyond the ADEC community, and a safe healthy life with considered risk for new opportunities and experiences. ADEC’s services revolve around one mission: Empowering people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives in their communities. We serve more than 1,200 individuals each year through more than a dozen programs, ranging from music therapy for children to supervised group living for adults. Summer Camp Manager is responsible for: Managing all day-to-day summer camp activities at their assigned location. Model and ensure proper active treatment for all campers. Developing and implementing a schedule for assisting clients in the areas of personal hygiene and appropriate grooming skills. Engaging in assessment and teaching activities so that prescriptive training goals will be implemented for each individual served. Facilitating the implementation of the PCISP by providing active treatment that allows individuals to achieve goals and experience new opportunities. Maintaining a system of evaluation and progress of the client's performance against the goals as set forth in the PCISP through proper documentation. Supervising, training, developing, and completing performance reviews for assigned DSPs and Team Lead. Developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with community resources, co-workers, parents and guardians, and all ADEC personnel. ADEC's summer camp runs from early June to early August. Summer Camp hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm. ADEC has been providing services to children, adults and families with developmental disabilities for over 70 years. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with individuals with development or intellectual disabilities
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Pass criminal background check and have a negative drug test

  • Previous management experience strongly preferred
