How you’ll impact our mission: The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a seasonal Summer Camp Counselor to engage young people who have completed grades 1-9 in our fun-filled camp programs. The Summer Camp Counselor reports to the Director of Youth Programs and is based at the Milwaukee and Racine Campuses. This is a 40 hour per week role that runs from June 15 – August 21 with training taking place the week of June 15. Key accountabilities: Lead campers through games, hands-on activities, presentations, and interactions with animals Facilitate high-impact camp programs in alignment with organizational resources and priorities Support youth program volunteers who assist with camp activities Provide a safe, interactive learning environment for campers and animals in a fast-paced environment Follow all camp and youth programs protocols Monitor effectiveness of camp activities and programs and work with youth programs staff on any adjustments needed Set up and clean up camp space and classrooms Use organizationally aligned positive behavior strategies to support youth
