About the role Turn Your Summer Into Something Fun (and Meaningful) Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness, managed by HealthFitness, is hiring Summer Youth Camp Counselors in Bentonville, AR. You’ll spend your days leading activities, hanging with kids, and bringing the energy at our state‑of‑the-art facility. If you’re active, responsible, and love working with kids, this is a summer job that doesn’t feel like work. The Basics: Full‑time summer gig (40 hrs/week) Shifts: 7:15am–4:15pm or 8:30am–5:30pm Great experience + great vibes Perfect for students or anyone who wants a fun, fast‑paced summer job with purpose. Responsible for leading, supporting, engaging, and motivating youth in activity programs. Will assist in developing youth programs and leading and mentoring program participants.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Adult and pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to start date.
  • Robust ability to actively lead and engage youth.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with both children and adults.
  • Active listing skills and ability to relate to and provide fun, engaging, safe activities for youth of different backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for program participants.

Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastically lead and support participants through program activities.
  • Monitor participants to ensure compliance with rules, prevent accidents, and identify inappropriate behaviors.
  • Proactively address and deescalate inappropriate behavior.
  • Provide corrective direction to help participants learn appropriate actions and to make positive behavioral choices.
  • Work with program coordinator and program staff to plan and coordinate activities.
  • Maintain, clean and ensure proper use of facilities and equipment.
  • Supervise children ranging from ages [insert age range if applicable].
  • Clean up after the children every shift.
  • Play games and other activities with the children.
  • Make sure the children are checked in and out by parents.
  • Nurture sharing, sportsmanship and other social skills.
  • Escort the children to the playground and ball fields.
