About The Position

Camp Brighton is looking for fun, energetic, enthusiastic and engaging summer camp counselors who love being in the mountains and working with children. Counselors will create and sustain a fun, safe atmosphere while leading kids (ages 6-15) on excursions, hikes and other activities in the mountains and lakes around the Brighton Resort.

Requirements

• FUN, ENGAGING, ENTHUSIATIC and enjoys working with kids
• Significant experience working with children ages 6-15
• A physical fitness level able to lead hikes, activities and games at 9000+ ft. over steep mountainous terrain
• Comfortable hiking miles throughout the rugged mountains of Brighton
• Reliable, flexible and caring
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of emotional intelligence to foster strong relationships with campers and co-counselors
• Commitment to work Monday through Friday from June 22 through Aug 5
• Ability to motivate, inspire and engage a group of children in activities and excursions.

Nice To Haves

• Teachers with summer camp and childhood development experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Safety and wellbeing of children ages 6-15
• Provide a fun and engaging atmosphere for all campers
• Provide guidance, support and motivation for all campers
• Organizing and facilitating games, activities, excursions, etc…
• Welcome and engage with campers and parents during drop-off and pickup
• Daily cleaning and organizing of facilities and activities with staff
• Understanding and implementing all protocols and procedures for camper safety
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Driving the shuttle up and down the canyon
