Full-Time Seasonal Job Opportunity The Summer Camp Counselor II supports the daily operations of the summer camp and helps ensure a safe, engaging, and enriching experience for campers and staff. This leadership role involves program planning, staff supervision, camper supervision, and day-to-day camp coordination. The Camp Counselor II helps maintain a structured, positive camp environment; supports the implementation of program activities; and serves as a key point of contact for vendors and community partners to help ensure camp runs smoothly and efficiently. Required Availability: June 5, 2026, to August 7, 2026 / Monday–Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Availability to work the full duration of the camp, including training and special events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in camp management, youth programming, or related leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, behavior management, and child development.
  • Commitment to health and wellness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with children, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain them).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and risk management procedures for youth programs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Biligual in English and Spanish or Creole (preferred but not required)
  • Must pass a Level Ii background check.
  • This job opportunity requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

  • Camp O perations & Program Support Assist with the daily setup, coordination, and overall operation of camp activities.
  • Support the implementation of age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
  • Help ensure daily schedules are followed and activities run on time.
  • Assist with preparing materials, supplies, and activity spaces.
  • Camper Supervision & Safety Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all campers.
  • Supervise campers during activities, transitions, meals, and field trips.
  • Monitor camper behavior and support positive behavior management strategies.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and parent concerns, following camp protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, child supervision ratios, and organizational policies.
  • Staff Support & Leadership Provide guidance and support to junior counselors and camp staff.
  • Help model professionalism, teamwork, and positive camper engagement.
  • Assist with training new staff on camp procedures and expectations.
  • Communicate operational issues or concerns to camp leadership.
  • Vendor / Partner Coordination Serve as a point of contact for scheduled vendors, guest presenters, and community partners.
  • Help coordinate logistics for special events, field trips, and external activities.
  • Communication & Administrative Support Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and other required camp documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, staff, and leadership as needed.
  • Support opening and closing procedures and other assigned administrative tasks.
  • General Camp duties as assigned.
