About The Position

Our areas of focus include Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. We strive to develop youth through our program departments including aquatics, child development, gymnastics, and sports. We have been impacting the Greensburg Community for over 155 years and will continue to do so through our mission work. The YMCA of Greensburg is looking for fun, energetic, enthusiastic Summer Camp Aides to serve their community this summer. Ideal candidates are team players, communicate effectively with parents, campers, and peers, and have patience, and creativity. Experience working with children is preferred. Summer Camp is held at the Greensburg-Salem Middle School.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen years of age.
Must be able to provide or acquire state criminal (Act 33), child abuse (Act 34), FBI, and sex offender registry clearances.
Must provide physical exam and TB test completed within the last 12 month of hire.
Must provide two letters of recommendation.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with children in a professional setting preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of activities for campers.
Acting as a role model for the children and other counselors at all times.
Being responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary.
Maintaining supervision during summer field trips.
