Summer Associate - Risk Management Services (Bala Cynwyd, PA)
About The Position
Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M.Best. The Summer Associates Program is PHLYs exclusive internship experience. It will require students to think critically about the daily responsibilities of an insurance professional. You will learn the ins and outs of the internal systems and work alongside professionals to complete team and company objectives. You will learn the impact of your department on the overall company and its success. Role: This role will be responsible for assisting with daily tasks and projects in support of the PHLY Risk Management Services team. This role will require attention to detail, problem solving mentality and having a customer service mindset. This role will work alongside our risk management professionals to understand the risk mitigation process. The individual in this role will have the opportunity to shadow members of the Risk Management Services team on site visits.
Requirements
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

- Involvement in community and extracurricular activities is preferred
Responsibilities
- Opportunity to attend a site visit with a Risk Professional.
- Intimate involvement in our IoT programs
- Back-end system workflow knowledge
- Regular communication with external stakeholders (policyholders/agents)
- Recommendation compliance confirmation
- Assist field staff with workload management
