About The Position

Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. The intern will work closely with the Physical Security team to implement processes, develop instructions & interpret government policy. Will handle Facility controls, simple security briefings and integration process within the department databases. The intern will work with multiple disciplines within security, such as physical, program and personnel, as well as other departments such as Corporate Security, Contracts, Trade Compliance, Learning & Development and our Uniformed Security team. Over the course of our 10-12 week internship experience you will have the opportunity to: Security operations briefings to a small room Security badging operations for employees, contractors & visitors Processes and procedures derived from government policies Perform data entry, validation, and record checks in government and local systems Corporate and Government policy compliance This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Behavioral & Social Science, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, Business Administration or other related field
  • Basic understanding of safety, security, and risk management principles in an public or corporate setting
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills
  • Must communicate clearly and confidently in one-on-one discussions, small group meetings, and small audience briefings
  • These positions must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Additionally, some positions may require the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
  • Additionally, applicants must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.

  • Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research or engineering internships

  • Junior or Senior class standing
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
