About The Position

Intern – Vendor Oversight Team (Healthcare) As an Intern on the Medicare Advantage Vendor Oversight Team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the management and evaluation of third-party vendors critical to healthcare operations. You will assist with the development of vendor contracts and maintaining oversight of vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policies and healthcare regulations. This role is ideal for students interested in healthcare administration, business operations, or supply chain management. You’ll develop professional skills in communication, project management, and problem-solving, while learning how a healthcare organization collaborates with external partners to deliver quality care.

Requirements

Have status as a sophomore, junior or senior as of the end of the spring term (or be enrolled in an applicable graduate program.)
Hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better as of the most recent grading period.
Be able to work full-time during normal business hours for this summer.
Be available to begin employment mid-May.
Currently enrolled and active in any educational degree program that aligns with our various businesses.
With proper education credentials no experience necessary.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent working knowledge of computers and company standard software; Internet research experience strongly preferred.
Ability to proofread documents for spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Ability to perform necessary mathematical computations.
Ability to comprehend consequences of various situations and make appropriate individuals aware of same for decision making.
Ability to exchange information clearly and concisely and to present ideas, report facts and other information.
Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines while maintaining composure during stressful situations occurring as a result of workloads and/or deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Assist with monitoring and evaluating third-party vendor performance to ensure compliance with contracts, company policies, and healthcare regulations.
Support the development and review of vendor contracts and related documentation.
Track vendor activities and performance metrics using company software applications.
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding vendor processes, performance, and compliance.
Assist with data analysis and reporting to support vendor oversight initiatives.
Help maintain accurate documentation and records related to vendor management.
Participate in special projects that contribute to the team’s mission of maintaining high standards for vendor quality and service.
Proofread and review documents for accuracy in spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Prepares and delivers presentation(s) on assigned topic(s).
Attends unit, departmental, and corporate meetings as assigned.
