Internship Focus: The Project Management Office standardizes the project-related processes and facilitates the sharing of resources, methodologies, tools, and techniques. It ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The PMO also plays a crucial role in aligning projects with the organization's strategic objectives, thereby maximizing value and benefits realization.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college/university or May 2026 graduate
  • Passionate about our mission
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Majors preferred: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Interdisciplinary majors that include technology component, English or Communications

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management Assistance: Prioritize Projects: Evaluate ongoing projects based on strategic alignment, resource availability, and potential ROI.

  • Portfolio Management Assistance: Forecasting: Predict future resource needs based on project timelines and workloads.
  • Portfolio Management Assistance: Optimization: Implement strategies to optimize resource usage and avoid bottlenecks.
  • Research PMO Best Practices, Tools, and Procedures: Best Practices: Look into frameworks like PMBOK, PRINCE2, and Agile methodologies.
  • Research PMO Best Practices, Tools, and Procedures: Tools: Evaluate tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Smartsheet for project management.
  • Research PMO Best Practices, Tools, and Procedures: Procedures: Standardize processes for project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Review Project Management Backlog for Process Improvements: Identify Bottlenecks: Analyze the backlog to find recurring issues or delays.
