Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in Biology, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2028
  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for the duration of the co-op

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of mRNA technology.
  • Experience in ML, first principle, and hybrid dynamic modeling.
  • Familiarity with mathematical software and packages (Python-sklearn, Julia, MATLAB, PYOMO, gPROMS).

Responsibilities

  • The Co-op position is based in the Data and Computational Science (DCS) department within the Sanofi mRNA Center of Excellence (mRNA CoE), supporting activities in the CMC data science group.
  • This position will focus on developing machine learning (ML) models for different units, such as In Vitro Transcription (IVT) in drug substance process development.
  • The candidate will have opportunities to learn about mRNA technology and unit operations, and to demonstrate the benefits of ML modeling in a non-GMP lab environment.
  • The successful candidate will work with their supervisor to develop ML models for different unit operations.
  • Activities include investigating how process parameters influence product quality attributes and uncertainty quantification, designing model-based DoE for model structure selection, and parameter optimization.
