About The Position

Western Digital is seeking a group of talented, highly motivated interns to join our Global Supply Chain & Procurement team for Summer 2026. Ideal candidates will have a foundational understanding of key business processes, strong project management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Interns will gain hands-on experience in: Process improvement and operational efficiency Data analytics and visualization Cross-functional collaboration within a global organization Executive-level communication and reporting Internship placements will be made across several teams, including: Global Logistics – Drive process improvements and conduct root cause analysis to enhance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Risk Management – Research and analyze data to support supply chain risk resiliency strategies. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement – Perform spend analysis, supplier evaluations, and contribute to inventory optimization and vendor negotiations. Indirect Procurement – Identify and implement automation solutions to streamline procurement processes and improve operational efficiency. This position is part of our Early Career program at WD. Our Early Career program is designed to support individuals beginning their professional career by providing the foundational training through a structured onboarding, mentorship, and development curriculum.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Candidates who do not require relocation to the San Jose, CA area will be prioritized.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data analytics, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, and data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Exposure to supply chain or procurement concepts through coursework or prior experience.
  • Strong program/project management capabilities.
  • Excellent prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
