About The Position

Hendricks CareerTek is Hiring Summer Interns! Hendricks CareerTek is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated summer intern to support our Summer Academies and other initiatives throughout the season. POSITION TYPE: Part-time (~30 hours per week) WAGES: Starting at $15/hour (depending on experience) DEPARTMENT: Programs REPORTS TO: Executive Director FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt AVAILABILITY: ~30 hours/week | Start Date: May 25 Typical schedule M-Th 8:00-3:00, F 9:00-12:00 Candidate MUST be 18+ years old, and have their own vehicle that they would be able to use every day PRIMARY FUNCTION Position is responsible for supporting CareerTek’s summer activities and office projects as determined and directed by the Hendricks CareerTek Staff. This role is perfect for a highly organized, hard-working individual who is eager to gain hands-on experience in activity coordination, communication, and youth engagement.

Requirements

• Candidate MUST be 18+ years old, and have their own vehicle that they would be able to use every day
• Experience with Google Suite & Canva
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong writing and grammar skills
• Passion for working and engaging with students
• Proactive and self-motivated approach to tasks
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
• Indoor and outdoor work environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the organization and implementation of Summer Academies.
• Draft and send academy details and reminder emails.
• Prepare and organize academy supplies.
• Track and maintain attendance data.
• Create newsletters and photobooks showcasing academy activities.
• Organize and develop academy photo books for participants.
• Assist with additional office projects as needed.
