Summer 2026 Estimating Intern
About The Position
The Estimating Co-op/Intern will be exposed to the earliest phases of the construction process. Working with our dedicated estimating and preconstruction department, you will see how the bidding process evolves; learn how to read plans and drawings; and communicate with our subcontractor partners. The goal is to develop a fundamental understanding of general commercial, industrial, and institutional estimating practices. This knowledge will be the foundation for future career opportunities and an asset in any construction role. The Estimating Co-op/Intern reports directly to the Senior Vice President/Estimating & Preconstruction, James Thomson.
Requirements
- Construction Management major, or related field
- Accurate and efficient with a strong work ethic and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities
- Bidding/estimating support
- Understand plan and specification requirements
- Identify subcontractor/material supplier scopes of work
- Distribute construction documents
- Communicate with subcontractors
- Assist in take-off process
- Assist in database maintenance
- Handle requests for information
- Track estimating deadlines
- Build relationship with key stakeholders including owners, architects/engineers, subcontractors and consultants
