Summer 2026 Embedded Software Engineering Internship
About The Position
Take your embedded software development skills to the next level with Marotta Controls’ Internship Program. As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern, you’ll apply your coding and problem-solving abilities to projects in design, production, quality, and test engineering. This is a chance to work on aerospace and defense applications where reliability, precision, and innovation matter most. You’ll collaborate closely with hardware and systems engineers, gain exposure to real-world software validation, and present your work to senior leadership at the close of your rotation. Along the way, you’ll grow your technical skills while expanding your professional network.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related program.
- Solid programming knowledge using C/C++.
- Course work or hands on experience programming microcontrollers or microprocessors using direct hardware interfaces with real time constraints.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Interest in aerospace/defense applications and real-world system integration.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Availability to work full-time onsite beginning June 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support embedded software development, testing, and integration for aerospace systems.
- Use development lab equipment including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and JTAG emulation to support hardware/software integration activities.
- Assist with automation, simulation, and validation tools.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and test reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and apply coding best practices.
