About The Position

As a proud education partner of both the University of Cincinnati and Ohio University, Momentive’s Sistersville, WV site offers Chemical Engineering students a co-op experience where classroom fundamentals meet real-world impact. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced process and production engineers on meaningful projects that enhance plant performance, improve productivity, reduce waste and energy use, and advance our sustainability goals. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience using Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) tools—directly applying the skills you’ve built at UC and OU to solve real operational challenges. This co-op is designed to strengthen your technical foundation, build confidence in a manufacturing environment, and accelerate your readiness for future rotations, internships, or full-time engineering opportunities. Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (preferably from partnered universities Ohio University or University of Cincinnati, but open to other)
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Exhibits teamwork and interpersonal excellence
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a short period of focus

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience across the full operations of a chemical manufacturing facility—learning how products are made, optimized, and delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate in innovation sessions focused on product and process improvement, sharing your ideas to help drive real change.
  • Lead 2–4 meaningful productivity projects designed to deliver measurable cost savings and improve production performance.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by developing and implementing actions that reduce waste and environmental impact.
  • Work alongside site leaders in Waste Reduction, Utility Optimization, and Sustainability to identify and execute high-impact projects.
  • Own 2 site-specific projects centered on utility efficiency and waste reduction, contributing directly to our long-term sustainability goals.
