About The Position

HealthRIGHT 360, a nonprofit organization and a family of programs, is committed to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Our mission is to tackle systemic barriers to healthcare and promote health equity for all. We offer a wide range of services, including mental health care, residential and outpatient substance use treatment, and primary health services. Additionally, we provide transitional support for individuals re-entering the community after involvement in the criminal justice system. By integrating physical and behavioral health, we empower individuals to overcome challenges by addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery. Be Well is located on the Be Well Orange County campus, which brings together mental health care services uniting public, private, and faith-based organizations in a cooperative partnership that helps facilitate communication, bridge gaps, and eliminate barriers to care. The result is a more compassionate system of care that works better for everyone in the community. The 24/7/365 residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program provides 3.1, 3.3, and 3.5 ASAM levels of care for males and females, as well as 3.2 withdrawal management. There are 36 beds allocated for 3.1, 3.3 and 3.5 and 6 beds allocated to 3.2, for a total of 42 beds. The SUD Supervisor I, Overnight leads and supervises a team of professionals to ensure the delivery of quality client care at Be Well during the overnight shift. This role contributes to maintaining a positive and supportive environment for our clients and ensures that staff meet the organization’s goals in alignment with HealthRIGHT 360’s philosophy, mission, values, policies, and objectives. The SUD Supervisor I, Overnight is responsible for overseeing client care, which includes staff scheduling, managing relationships with outside agencies, and performing other assigned tasks. Additionally, the role supports daily activities essential to incorporating the organization’s mission and values into our service delivery.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Registration as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor from an accredited California agency (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP).
At least 1 year’s experience providing supervision to direct service providers, preferably in a non-profit organization or comparable agencies with similar client populations.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor from an accredited California agency (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP).
Experience with efficient and effective treatment and management of clients with co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and guide direct service staff such as SUD Counselors and Client Safety Navigators, and/or assigned.
Assist management with interviews, selection, hires, and terminations.
Ensure that all direct reports are in compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures, position expectations and performance goals, and contractual requirements.
Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, support, and conduct formal performance evaluations in a timely manner.
Identify direct reports’ strengths and weaknesses and strive to develop each team member to their fullest potential.
Deliver and arrange training and resources to ensure that direct reports are successful in their roles.
Ensure proper coverage of the program by managing work schedules and approving time away from work.
Deliver all communications necessary to all team members to remain current with HealthRIGHT 360’s policies and procedures and to inform them of quality-of-care concerns.
Maintain open communication with the manager concerning employee matters/needs, client assignment, workload distribution across the team, and seek consultation when needed.
Address interpersonal or team conflicts promptly and diplomatically to maintain a positive work environment.
Lead weekly staff meetings to discuss program updates, issues, policies, and procedures.
Ensure that overnight staff remain alert and awake at the entire overnight shift.
Assign clients to staff’s caseload.
Ensure that all treatment service plans and activities are executed in keeping with the organization’s values, mission, vision, and strategy.
Facilitate and assist with client case conferences as applicable.
Ensure that staff provide strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally competent services in an ethical and legal manner.
Ensure safety and security of the program and mediate client grievances.
Respond to emergencies, outstanding crisis, or events as needed, including during holidays, weekends, and afterhours.
Ensure that all direct reports submit documentation in accordance with program requirements and in compliance with all regulatory requirements and agency’s policies and procedures. This includes timeliness of documentation with progress notes being completed no later than the following business day, assessments, treatment plans, and discharges occurring on time.
Perform regular audits to ensure contract compliance.
Provide services within the scope of practice, which may include crisis intervention, assessments, individual and group counseling, case conferences, educational groups, and treatment plans as assigned.
Assume ownership for any crisis as it relates to service delivery and see it through to completion.
Maintain documentation of services provided in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360’s policies and procedures to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all clients in the facility during overnight hours.
Safely and efficiently transport clients to designated locations during emergency situations and as needed.
Work different shifts to maintain knowledge of all aspects of the program.
Develop and maintain training-related workflows and procedures.
Actively participate in assigned supervision, agency, and team meetings.
Participate in training opportunities and complete assigned training in a timely manner.
Maintain compliance with credential requirements.
