They are seeking enthusiastic and dependable Substitute Teachers to join their growing team. In this role, the substitute teacher will play a vital part in maintaining instructional continuity and supporting the mission of cultivating thoughtful, morally grounded students in a nurturing and excellence-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Commitment to ACADC's mission, vision, and policies.
  • Strong moral character aligned with the principles of ordered liberty and constitutional self-government.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with superior organizational skills.

  • Punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a background check as required by state law and the Colorado Department of Education, including a biometric background check requiring fingerprinting.
  • Consent to the background check process and understanding of disqualifying criteria (e.g., convictions for violent crimes, offenses against children, drug-related offenses, certain felony convictions, certain misdemeanors).
  • Provide verifiable proof for roles that demand specific qualifications or certifications (such as teaching credentials).
  • Adherence to Colorado Education Laws and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, productive learning environment tailored to students' needs.
  • Implement lesson plans and instructional activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Ensure all ACADC policies are observed during classroom activities.
  • Create and maintain a safe, respectful classroom conducive to learning.
  • Supervise students at all times, including outdoor activities, recess, lunch, and carpool duties.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures, including fire, severe weather, and tornado protocols.
  • Take attendance, review teacher notes, and follow lesson plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with FERPA guidelines.
  • Adapt to varying classroom circumstances and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Arrive 30 minutes prior to assignment and remain on duty for the full duration, including teacher planning periods.
  • Leave detailed notes for the regular teacher on any issues or observations from the day.
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
