Kokua is seeking substitute teachers in Weslaco and the Rio Grande Valley, TX, for the 2025-26 school year. Requirements

1+ year(s) working with students in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, camps, etc.)
Minimum of 48 college credit hours
Confidence to manage a classroom of students
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Strong belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world
Ability to pass state & federal background checks

Responsibilities

Lead classrooms and help create a safe, supportive learning environment
Step in where needed throughout the school day to support your campus, which could include lunch/recess supervision, hall and bathroom monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season

Up to $145 per day for Bachelor’s and Master’s/Professional (MBA, JD, M. Ed, etc) degree substitute teachers
Up to $117 per day for High School/GED, 48+ college credits, and Associate’s degree substitute teachers
