About The Position
Kokua is seeking substitute teachers in Irving and the surrounding Dallas area for the 2025-26 school year. The company aims to connect students with classroom role models who can empower them to be their best. Kokua, which means 'to come together to fulfill a need' in Hawaiian, has been connecting talented individuals to K-12 schools for over 13 years. They operate in schools across the country and serve the Dallas-Fort Worth area, building a growing and diverse network of dedicated substitute teachers who want to make a difference in students' lives. Requirements
- 1+ year(s) working with students in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, camps, etc.)
- Minimum of 48 college credit hours
- Confidence to manage a classroom of students
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Strong belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world
- Ability to pass state & federal background checks
Responsibilities
- Lead classrooms
- Help create a safe, supportive learning environment
- Step in where needed throughout the school day to support your campus
- Perform lunch/recess supervision
- Perform hall and bathroom monitoring
- Provide tutoring
- Proctor during testing season
