JOB SUMMARY : The Substitute Teacher is responsible for delivering meaningful instruction, helping students engage with subject matter, and supporting the goals of scheduled lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, experience working with students, and a commitment to continuous growth as an educator. The role requires a collaborative, team-oriented mindset and a positive, flexible attitude.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
- Clear communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks.
- Maintain discipline and monitor student safety.
- Adapt to diverse needs and fast-paced environments.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at the division office by 7:45 AM to receive materials and the day’s schedule.
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Foster a positive and productive learning environment.
- Support students in achieving lesson and curriculum objectives.
- Maintain classroom management and take accurate attendance.
- Ensure students are supervised at all times.
- Fulfill assigned duties, including lunch and recess supervision.
- Follow all emergency procedures and adhere to school policies.
