About The Position

Job Summary: As a Substitute Teacher, you will contribute to the education and well-being of our students. You will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in the classroom during the absence of regular teaching staff. Desired Attributes: Professes a strong Christian faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrates regular attendance at a Bible-believing church aligned with the CSAGH Statement of Faith. Agrees with and upholds the principles outlined in Articles II, III, and XII, section 1 of the Constitution of the Christian School Association of Greater Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Self-motivated, dynamic, well-organized, and adaptable individual with a genuine desire to connect with, nurture, and minister to children. Cultivates healthy and positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and school administration.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college coursework preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with educators and other staff.
  • Physical Requirements: The ability to stand, sit, move around the classroom for extended periods, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Lifting, bending, and carrying classroom materials and supplies.
  • Operate a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written, and listen regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Classroom Management: Effectively manage classroom dynamics and ensure a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Implement and follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher.
  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver instructional material as outlined in lesson plans, maintaining engagement, and addressing student questions.
  • Student Support: Provide additional support to students as needed.
  • Address student concerns and inquiries with empathy and understanding.
  • Adherence to Policies: Adhere to school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Report any incidents or issues to the school administration promptly.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with school staff, including administrators and fellow teachers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless transition during the teacher's absence.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to different teaching styles, grade levels, and subjects as required.
  • Be available for short-notice assignments.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and parents.
  • Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality.
