Substitute Teacher
About The Position
Substitute Teacher assumes the full role and responsibilities of the Teacher in his/her absence, provides support to regular classroom staff for the establishment, maintenance and management of all classroom activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implements daily lesson plans and daily schedules. Organizes and maintains learning centers within the classroom. Maintains order by using positive approaches to behavior management. Recruits volunteers and solicits in-kind contributions. Attends meetings, trainings and workshop as required. Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and adjoining restrooms. Serves as an advocate for the Head Start Program, families and children. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or GED and
- At least one year experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting
- Must have current driver’s license and access to use of automobile with current insurance.
- Current CDA or AA in ECE required
Nice To Haves
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred
