Job SummaryThe Substitute Teacher at St. Cecilia School & Academy provides instructional support and classroom leadership in the absence of the regular teacher. This role ensures continuity of learning by following established lesson plans, maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment, and supporting the academic and behavioral expectations of the school. Substitute Teachers play a key role in upholding St. Cecilia’s mission, values, and commitment to student growth.

Requirements

• Experience working with children or youth in educational or related settings.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow established lesson plans and maintain instructional continuity.
• Commitment to St. Cecilia School & Academy’s mission, values, and learning environment.
• Flexibility to work across grade levels and adapt to changing classroom needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on teacher‑provided lesson plans and classroom materials.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment for all students.
• Manage classroom behavior in alignment with school policies and expectations.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators as needed.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and other assigned duties.
• Support the overall learning environment by adapting to various grade levels and subject areas as needed.
