TITLE: SUBSTITUTE TEACHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Work with individuals, small groups, or the entire class to support teaching of content. Report to the school office at the beginning of the school day to sign in, pick up required materials/schedule of classes, and at the end of the day to return materials and discuss the next day’s assignment. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned. Take attendance according to the provided procedures. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives. Ensure the safety and supervision of students at all times, including awareness of emergency procedures. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity and interests of the students. Perform other related duties as directed by the principal. SUBSTITUTE TEACHER REQUIREMENTS: Applicants may not begin accepting assignments until all of the following criteria have been completed and verified. Twenty-one (21) years of age or older preferred. If under the age of twenty-one (21), candidates may be limited to PK - 6th grade. Two original forms of ID for work authorization. Annual FERPA, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Title IX Training. Background check completed through IdentoGO using the code 2B7KRR for school district employee. Returning Yukon Public School employees, including substitutes, will not be required to complete a new background check. Attend an annual Substitute Teacher Training: All substitute teachers must attend a training session before they can begin accepting assignments for Yukon Public Schools. Substitute teacher training will be held at the Yukon Public Schools Administration Building, 600 Maple. You will find information pertaining to the Workshops, such as dates and times, at: yukonschools.org: Substitute Teacher Information PAY RATE: Pay rate is broken into 2 different categories, certified and non-certified.
