About The Position

St. Patrick Catholic School in Corpus Christi is seeking exceptional individuals for the following position: Substitute Teacher. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church. Requirements

• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff
• Basic computer/technology skills
• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background, drug screening, and MVR
• Obtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
• Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Implement teacher-prepared lesson plans, deliver curriculum, and maintain academic continuity
• Support and model Catholic teachings, Gospel values, and the school's mission and philosophy
• Maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment using approved discipline methods
• Oversee students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, cafeteria, and during activities
• Provide feedback to the regular teacher and alert administration to significant issues, maintaining confidentiality
• Follow school procedures, report to the office
• Perform other duties as assigned
