About The Position

K-8 Substitute Teacher/Assistant (Flexible Schedule) Christ Community Lutheran School in St. Louis, Missouri, has openings for both Regular Subs and Occasional Subs in our K-8 Grades . The ideal candidate will have experience working with elementary and/or middle school students in a variety of settings, such as school classrooms, coaching, summer camps, Sunday School, VBS, or babysitting. Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent preferred; past teaching experience ideal
• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school children
• Classroom management skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Joy for working with children
• Alignment with CCLS mission and statement of faith

Responsibilities

• Subs may take the place of either a teacher or a teacher's aide
• Supervise children in the classroom, lunchroom, hallways, and outdoors
• If subbing for teacher: execute lesson plans and other instructions left by teacher
• If subbing for teacher's aide: provide support to teacher and assist children to engage in lessons and activities
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff as part of a positive and supportive team environment
• This position involves standing for extended periods of time and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
