About The Position

Substitute School Nurse(s) - PreK-12 Day-to-day Substitute on an on-call as-needed basis Registered nurse only. PLEASE NOTE: Upon selection for hire candidates must complete fingerprinting requirements at their cost and complete all payroll paperwork and identification prior to being called as a substitute. Substitute shifts vary based on specific schedules between 7:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Substitutes are called on an as-needed basis and there is no guarantee of how many days you will be called; however, please be sure you can be available during these hours before applying for substitute status. Application files will be reviewed after initial closing date. Candidates selected for hire will be contacted to complete fingerprinting and payroll paperwork. Substitutes are required to help fulfill the job of a school nurse on a day-to-day basis and is done for purpose of providing the fullest possible educational opportunity for each district student and contributing to a climate of health and well-being in the district schools by minimizing student absence due to illness or injury. Requirements

• Job-related experience in community health, hospital/clinical settings and/or school nursing desired.
• Experience caring for an individual with Type 1 Diabetes
• Hold an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited college or a degree form an accredited School of Nursing
• Active Washington State License as Registered Nurse
• Fingerprint Clearance through Superintendent of Public Instruction
• School Board Approval
• HIV/Infectious Disease and Right To Know Training
• Mandatory district-provided training (within 30 days of hire date)
• Immunization history if born 1/1/57 or later
