About The Position

This is an on-call substitute-only position. This is not a full-time position. TITLE: Substitute Food Service Driver LOCATION: Central Nutrition Center HOURS: Hours vary based on need, between 6:00am-3:30pm. PAY: $23.10/ hour HIRING SPECIFICATIONS: Required Education and Experience: 1.High School Diploma, HiSET or GED 2.CDL with clean driving record for a three year period 3.Thorough knowledge of city and location of schools 4.Ability to operate district vehicles in a safe manner and obeys traffic laws 5.History of good attendance Desired Education and Experience: Effective oral and written communications skills 2. Computational skills BASIC FUNCTION: Transport, deliver and return equipment, food and supplies from school kitchens to satellites and provide special deliveries and pickups as needed to and from warehouse to and from school kitchens under the general direction of Director of Food and Nutrition or Warehouse III staff in accordance with district food service policies, procedures and objectives. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the food and nutrition services department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Provide direction to substitute driver or trainees. 2.Operate truck on scheduled route on time and keep posted route current. 3.Load and unload Food Service supplies and equipment efficiently and safely. 4.Deliver, place in position, pick up, return food, and equipment as assigned. 5.Service and maintain truck on a routine basis. 6.Take necessary safeguards to prevent loss of property. 7.Carry out policies and procedures as set forth for school district and Food Service operations. 8.Report any vehicle accident by phone to supervisor or the Food Service office from the scene immediately. 9.Attend job related meetings as assigned. 10.Report other incidents (i.e... cart off truck) in writing promptly to supervisor. 11.Wash, clean and fuel vehicles as assigned. 12.Notify supervisor of any work schedule changes, and complete appropriate forms. 13.Use Lockout/Tagout procedures. 14.Attend work on a prompt and regular basis. 15.Maintain confidentiality. 16.Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and otheremployees. 17.Assist with other duties as assigned. Attendance - sick leave standard is as follows: Employees must have ten (10) days or less of family/personal sick leave or “no leave hourly” time used. Scheduled hours in the timekeeping system will be utilized. Sick leave will be calculated based on the 12 previous months of actual workdays from the posting date for all employees.
