FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT I Position Description BASIC FUNCTION: Entry-level position; Under immediate supervision, assists in the preparation and/or serving of food in a cafeteria, maintains food service areas, facilities and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition and performs related work as required. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Positions in this class may be assigned to a food preparation kitchen, snack bar or faculty dining area where they have the responsibility to assist in food preparation, serve food and clean kitchen and serving areas. The duties listed below are typical for positions in the class collectively, but no one position will necessarily include all these duties.
