About The Position

BRECKSVILLE-BROADVIEW HEIGHTS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT CLASSIFIED VACANCY CLASSIFICATION VACANCY: Substitute Bus Aide BUILDING: Transportation SHIFT: Monday - Friday EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD SALARY: $13.00 Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Ohio Educational Aide Certificate Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board may find appropriate. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work effectively with others Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing Effective, active listening skills Organizational and problem-solving skills Knowledge of basic first-aid/CPR training Basic computer skills and keyboarding skills Ability to be patient and understanding Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, written warnings, and labels Ability to have complete control of bus discipline at all times Ability to effectively complete the Job Description, Duties, and Responsibilities Equipment Operated Wheelchairs Wheelchair tie-downs and shoulder straps Wheelchair lift (inside and outside of the bus) Car seat mechanisms Child restraints (harnesses) Additional Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue Frequent interaction with unruly children Occasional extensive sitting Frequent requirements to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, read, hear and see (occasional color vision required) Occasional requirement to lift and carry up to a maximum of 65 pounds Occasional requirement to push and pull up to a maximum of 300 pounds (on wheels) Occasional overtime work may be necessary Important Note : If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Sherry Lanza at [email protected] or call (440) 740-4011.
