About The Position

West Franklin USD #287 is looking for individuals who enjoy being around students and would like to be a substitute bus driver or an activity trip bus driver. Substitute drivers will need to have a CDL with an S, P, First Aide Class, Driver Improvement, DOT Physical, and must pass a drug test. All these requirements are reimbursable and training is provided by the Director of Transportation. Substitute bus drivers start at $1 6 .65 per hour, and activity trip drivers make $ 32 .00 for the first two hours and $ 10.00 per hour thereafter. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Health and Inoculation certificate on file in the central office.
  • Valid CDL license with required endorsements.
  • Meet all State requirements for Bus Drivers, including Defensive Driving and First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to attend monthly safety meetings.
  • Successfully complete two -hour behind the wheel- trainings.
  • Complete required physical examination for Bus Drivers (after employment offer is made)
  • Desire to continue career improvement.
  • Regular attendance is required of all employees subject to allowed leave in accordance with district policy or negotiated agreement, as appropriate.
  • Excessive absences or tardiness, unauthorized leave or unexcused absences may result in disciplinary action including terminationi of employment.

  • Appropriately operate all vehicles and equipment as necessary.
