Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Substation Construction experience
  • Knowledge of ITOA Switching and tagging qualification
  • Minimum of an associates degree, Bachelors preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed work packages that include: Defined scope of work, Accurate labor-hour estimates, Required skill sets and resource needs, Work procedures and process steps, Identification of special tools, mobile equipment, and material needs, Vendor coordination and support requirements, Safety and environmental considerations, Scheduling durations and sequencing, Sketches, drawings, and digital photos as needed, Assurance that all materials are secured and available to meet schedule requirements
  • Produce construction estimates for labor hours, durations, and resource requirements.
  • Identify critical activities and communicate upcoming overdue work to all transmission work groups.
  • Collaborate with Construction, Project Management, Energy Services, Key Account Representatives, and Plant Operations to coordinate high-priority work.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to clarify scope, develop construction sequences, identify clearance needs, and assign appropriate resources.
  • Coordinate transmission clearances with Grid Management, ECC & TCC, and DCC.
  • Address load or customer-sensitive issues through resequencing and coordination.
  • Collect feedback from crews, schedulers, and supervisors to improve future work package quality.
  • Assist with emergency planning, clearance requests, and hot line tag requests.
  • Conduct site visits to gather project requirements, attend scoping meetings, perform walkdowns, participate in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, and verify material and tool readiness.
  • Audit packages and completed work to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
