Substation Operations Intern
About The Position
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs. The work location is Oakland, CA. The intern is expected to come into the work location at least 2-3 days a week. PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Social Studies, Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, Liberal Arts or related field at an accredited university
- Students must be continuing education toward their degree during and/or after the internship
- Valid drivers license to drive around PG&E service territory as needed to visit field offices

- Advanced skills in PowerBI, R, and Python
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics

- Proven ability to solve problems in nonstandard and innovative ways
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency with tools and methods for project management and continuous improvement
- Organizational Strategy or experience in setting up an organization
- Business Strategy with a goal towards
- Experience in operations, constructions or a similar environment
- Good at formulation alternatives and articulating the benefits and drawbacks of each option
Responsibilities
- Develop key metrics and dashboards used to monitor business performance
- Collate and pull together information from disparate data sources to support operations
- Perform data analysis that support critical product and business decisions
- Support the Workforce Planning and Strategists to develop project plans and a strategic road-map
- Support PG&E Operations Tracking and Reporting
- Support Incident Investigations
- Support tracking, summarizing, and reporting of strategy work-streams
- Facilitate coordination across internal subject-matter experts (SMEs)
- Create tools to visualize data and other key concepts
- Lead information management process
- Provide strategic support for strategy meetings
- Process Map Organizations and determine gaps between existing organization and future design
- Develop Power Automate, Power Apps , SQL, Power BI applications
