About The Position

Responsibilities may include providing assistance to Probation Officers, contact with clients, scheduling, collecting, disposing, and maintaining records of urine specimens; conducting drug screenings; maintaining the inventory of testing supplies and equipment testifying in court; reporting and documenting testing results; ensuring documentation procedures are done in accordance with policies and procedures; and providing training on testing result documentation. Location: Columbus, Nebraska Starting salary: $38,257.13 per year
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in criminal justice, medical/laboratory, or a related area. OR One year of experience as a drug technician or related position.
- All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Responsibilities
- Assist Probation officers with client contact and scheduling activities.
- Greets clients, collects testing forms and accompanies to drug testing area.
- Conduct drug screening in accordance with established systems and procedures using approved testing methodologies. This includes obtaining urine specimen from Probationers, recording, and reporting results.
- Stores testing samples in secure location and ensures chain of custody procedures are observed at all times.
- Maintains drug testing supplies and equipment inventory.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
